Royal Kona Resort has partnered with DOCNow Virtual Healthcare Centers, Hawai‘i’s leader in convenient, affordable, and quality telemedicine, to announce that they will now provide guests with the opportunity to see a doctor from the comfort of their hotel room, lobby, or the poolside bar. DOCNow will offer convenient telemedicine visits 365 days a year from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from an iPad at the Royal Kona’s front desk.
“We’re thrilled to be able to provide our guests with the ability to get care right at our hotel,” said Tom Bell, President of Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts. “Providing guests with the best experience, food, and amenities to ensure they have a memorable Hawai‘i vacation has always been our top priority. It’s a natural extension of our mission to offer our guests immediate access to quality care instead of allowing them to lose any of their valuable vacation time waiting in the lobby of an urgent care clinic.”
From scrapes, sunburns, respiratory infections, urinary infections and the common cold to convenient prescription refills and replacements, DOCNow treats a wide range of minor and common illnesses in patients of all ages.
“Our service saves people’s vacations by letting them see a Hawai‘i-licensed, Hawai‘i-located doctor for a variety of common conditions, from essentially anywhere, over their smartphone, computer, or tablet,” said Dr. Norman Estin, co-founder of DOCNow Virtual Healthcare Centers. “Many visitors forget to pack their prescription drugs, like birth control or cholesterol medicine. Or they get sick and find themselves in need of medication and a doctor’s note excusing them from that expensive helicopter trip they booked. Being able to get medical care with a quick online doctor’s visit not only saves them valuable vacation time, it can also save them a lot of money.”
DOCNow accepts most local insurance, including HMSA/Blue Cross, UHA, HMA, Kaiser Choice PPO and HMAA. For those guests who do not have insurance, DOCNow accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover The cost of a virtual visit: just $49.
The next time a visitor to Kona comes down with a case of the sniffles, they’re encouraged to stop by DOCNow’s Virtual Healthcare Clinics at the Royal Kona front desk and get expert care from Hawaii’s most trusted team of Doctors.
